About The Russell Arts Council
The Russell Arts Council is a not-for-profit organization set up to act as a coordinating, educational, and service organization to foster, promote, encourage and increase the knowledge, appreciation and practice of the arts in Russell and the surrounding area.

The RAC was incorporated in May, 1976, as a result of the efforts of local citizens to meet local needs in the arts. The RAC supports all of the arts – Dance, Drama, Literature, Music and Visual Arts.

The RAC does apply for and receive some grant funding from the Kansas Arts Commission and other philanthropical organizations. However, the major portion of its funding comes from donations made by individuals and local businesses. Kansas funding is given when funds are available.

What is the major focus of RAC programming?
KIDS! The RAC focuses on educating the children of Russell and exposing them to as many different forms of the arts as possible.
